Crawlers are a type of off-road RC car mostly four-wheel drive cars and engineered with a high center of gravity and a large amount of torque specifically to drive through rugged terrain at slow speeds but with the utmost efficiency.
Crawlers can include:
- multi-link suspensions.
- oil-filled shocks
- rugged drivetrains
- high and low gear transmissions
Some crawlers are capable of fast speed but most are not designed with racing in mind. Rather crawlers are designed for mechanical and scale realism with crawler sizes ranging from 1/6th scale to 1/32th scale.
